California Republican stalwarts gathered in Burlingame for their state party convention, featuring a key-note speech from presidential candidate Newt Gingrich. The former House Speaker is currently running fourth in a field of four. But he was the only presidential candidate to make an appearance at the convention. Gingrich took the opportunity to blast President Barack Obama as "fundamentally dishonest". And he said California will play a key role in the Republican presidential nomination.
