The U.S. Senate has approved a massive 662 billion dollar spending bill by a lopsided 86 to 13 vote. It contains a bitterly contested provision critics have dubbed "Guantanamo Forever" that would subject people deemed to be terrorists to indefinite detention without trial. The provision would apply even to U.S. citizens apprehended by the military on U.S. soil. Protesters turned out for a San Francisco demonstration against it. Elise Guillot filed this report.
