The Oakland City Attorney says the rival campaigns to recall Mayor Jean Quan both will be allowed to circulate petitions for signatures. According to the Oakland Tribune, the City Attorney said only one recall will be put on the ballot. That will be whichever petition first garners the required 19,800 valid signatures. Meanwhile Alameda County labor leaders are urging Oakland residents not to sign either recall petition. Christopher Martinez filed this report from Oakland.
