Hundreds of transportation, business and elected leaders gathered in downtown Los Angeles today to pledge their commitment to job creation. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa told the transportation summit that he’s heading to Washington DC for President Obama’s speech on Thursday. He plans to ask federal officials to hire local workers to fill the 166,000 openings from federally funded southland transportation projects. Ernesto Arce reports from Los Angeles.
