Supporters of public transportation held a nation-wide day of action calling on lawmakers to defeat legislation that they say would cut federal funding for transportation projects throughout the country. The Transit Riders for Public Transportation rallied in Los Angeles this morning to raise awareness of the plight of low-income, inner-city communities who depend on affordable transportation.
