Environmental Groups Discount Valley Smog Report

The San Joaquin Valley Air District has announced that for the first time since it began keeping records, the ozone levels for August did not exceed the one-hour standard. But air quality watchdogs say the milestone comes 12 years too late. Ozone is formed when pollutants combine in heat and sunlight. Ozone levels in the Central Valley typically are among the highest in the nation. Vic Bedoian reports from Fresno.
