Immigrants Rights Advocates Urge Change in Pomona Impoundments

Hundreds of Pomona residents are asking their City Council to change its impound policy as it relates to unlicensed drivers. The Pomona Speaks Coalition says the city’s existing policy creates extreme financial hardship for working families.
It’s asking city lawmakers to adopt a new measure in the spirit of state Assembly Bill 1389, which allows an unlicensed driver to call a person with a license to pick up the car thus avoiding costly impound fees. Pacifica’s Ernesto Arce has more from Los Angeles.
