Amazon.com has reportedly offered to bring 7,000 distribution center jobs to California in exchange for the state not collecting sales taxes from the online retailer, worth $200 million a year. Progressive groups demonstrated in Los Angeles against Amazon and in support of independent book sellers and disadvantaged Californians reliant upon programs that could be funded by that tax revenue.
