Supporters of Democrat congress member Maxine Waters want a federal investigation into the south Los Angeles lawmaker to be dropped. The 2009 investigation seeks to determine whether Waters helped a minority bank obtain bailout funds-- while her husband held thousands of dollars of stocks in the bank. Responsibility for the investigation was recently switched from the House Ethics Committee to an outside counsel after allegations of misconduct within the secretive panel were made. Caro Rolando has more from Los Angeles.
