After nearly a year of closure, public libraries in Los Angeles are open on Mondays again. City voters approved Measure L in March, which is expected to raise $130 million dollars in tax revenue for the library system this year. Monday hours at all 73 L.A. branches were cut last year due to the city’s unprecedented budget shortfall.
Library patrons and students joined city officials to celebrate the announcement outside of the Los Angeles Central Library in downtown LA this morning.
