Los Angeles is preparing for what city officials and residents are calling carmageddon.
Beginning on Friday night, a 10 mile section of the 405, one of the world’s busiest freeways, will be shut down for 53 hours. City officials have launched an unprecedented campaign to urge residents to stay away from the area and ask something extraordinary of Angelenos: don’t drive.
