L.A. Teachers Accept Furlough Days

The Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education and the United Teachers of Los Angeles Union have agreed on furloughs as a way of lessening the number of teacher layoffs and increases in class sizes.

The LAUSD board accepted the union’s proposal, which requires teachers to take four furlough days in exchange for saving more than four thousand positions. Pacifica’s Ernesto Arce has more from Los Angeles.
