L.A. Teachers Union Wants Lay-offs Rescinded

United Teachers of Los Angeles rallied outside of the Los Angeles Unified School District board of education meeting today. The union was joined by community activist groups, parents and students who say Governor Jerry Brown’s revised budget presents an opportunity to rescind all layoff notices. Brown’s new budget puts $300 million dollars back in education funding which UTLA says should prevent the layoffs of 5,000 LAUSD teachers. Ernesto Arce reports.
