Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency Scrambles to Protect Funds from Jerry Brown Budget Proposal

While in talks with the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency for almost a billion dollars worth of contracts, the Los Angeles City Council has accepted the agency's latest submissions. This satisfies the last outstanding issues identified by a City Audit conducted in 2005.

The clean slate coincides with local lawmakers batting against Governor Jerry Brown's proposed budget plan. Brown has ordered all Community Redevelopment funds back to the state, to help plug a 25 billion dollar hole. Pacifica's Dan Fritz reports from Los Angeles.
