The insurance bill for last month’s deadly wildfires is up to $9 billion, and it’s expected to grow. That’s according to California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones. He says that figure does not include even greater losses that were not covered by insurance. Jones says that is putting pressure on insurers, and could make it harder for some homeowners to find insurance as California sees more, and fiercer, wildfires in an era of climate change.
