Some health care advocates are launching a campaign for a package of legislation to move California toward universal health coverage. The “Care 4 All California” campaign’s legislative package would end a policy that excludes undocumented adults from Medi-Cal, the health insurance program for low income Californians. Other measures are aimed at protecting against attacks from the Trump administration. Supporters say it is not an alternative to a single payer system, but rather an approach that could be enacted quickly.
