San Francisco Vows to Remain Sanctuary City

San Francisco officials and civic leaders held a “unity gathering” in City Hall, vowing to stand up for San Francisco values, including the commitment to remaining a sanctuary city. President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to cut off federal funds for sanctuary cities that protect undocumented residents, a move that could cost San Francisco up to a billion dollars in lost revenues. Trump’s home city of New York could lose up to six billion dollars under Trump’s plan.
