Death Penalty Moves from Ballot Box to CA Supreme Court

Death penalty supporters and opponents are headed to court, days after California voters rejected a measure to repeal capital punishment. Prop 62 failed at the ballot, while another measure to speed up executions appears to have won by a narrow margin. Votes are still being counted on that measure, Proposition 66, but opponents have already filed a legal petition calling on the state Supreme Court to block the new death penalty law from going into effect.
