City College SF Faces New Review, Turning Point in Four Year Battle for Survival

City College of San Francisco is facing a turning point in the four year battle to keep its accreditation and survive as a community institution. This week, concerned faculty, students and supporters hosted a media brief ahead of a visit from the Accreditation Commission for Community and Junior Colleges - the ACCJC - the private, non-profit organization they say has "gone rogue" and is driven by a political agenda to downsize Community Colleges, push out students, teachers, and quality programs, and privitize education across California. CCSF supporters are also campaigning to pass Proposition W in November - a measure dubbed the "mansion tax" that would fully fund City College at an estimated $12 million per year.
