Oakland Cafe Workers Protest Labor Abuses, File Lawsuit for Wage Theft

A small crowd of employees and their supporters demonstrated outside Coffee Roma in Oakland's medical district, known as Pill Hill, to draw attention to what they say are abusive labor practices at the cafe. The Bay Area Restaurant Worker's Movement joined the group alleging several labor abuses including: wage theft, lack of breaks and overtime pay, verbal abuse, sexual harassment, and retaliation for filing wage claims.
