Protestors Demand San Francisco Consulate General Condemn Attacks on Philippine Farmers

More than 100 Filipino community members gathered outside the Philippine consulate general’s office in San Francisco to protest the shooting dispersal of thousands of farmers by the Philippine national police last week. The farmers assembled to demand food assistance from the Philippine government after months of El Nino drought has ravaged the area’s agriculture. The police opened fire on the crowd and estimates report at least three killed and more than 100 injured.
