Hearing on CA Proposition 47 and Criminal Justice Reform Efforts

A two year old California law that reduced penalties for certain non violent and non-serious crimes has had a positive impact on men of color..That’s according to supporters who say Proposition 47 has kept people out of prison and allowed prisoners to petition to be re-sentenced. But some supporters say Governor Jerry Brown’s administration has been shortchanging the programs which are supposed to benefit from the cost savings of Prop 47.
