SF Rejects State Jail Money

Opponents of a planned new jail in San Francisco are celebrating a victory, after the Board of Supervisors voted not to accept state funding for the plan. Community groups say the city should instead invest in community programs to deal with mental health, substance abuse, and other issues in order to keep people out of the criminal justice system.
