San Francisco Jail Construction Plan Poised for Defeat

A proposal to build a new jail in San Francisco appears headed for defeat, with the announcement of new opposition on the Board of Supervisors. San Francisco was one of 15 counties that won a competition for a half billion dollars in state funding for new jail construction programs. With a vote scheduled for Tuesday, San Francisco could become the first county in California to turn down the state jail construction money. Christopher Martinez reports from San Francisco.
