California Works towards Racial Justice in 2016

Since the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Gardner at the hands of police officers in 2014 public awareness of a racial bias against minorities in the criminal justice system has been growing. 2015 saw black lives matter activists shut down presidential candidate events and college campuses nationwide bringing even more attention to the issue of racial injustice in America. In the state of California activists and the legislature worked through out the last year to remove racial and disability bias from the criminal justice system. Mike Kohn Reports
