Berkeley Progressives gathered to launch the mayoral campaign for city council member Jesse Arreguin's last night at the Berkeley arts festival. The district 3 council member is the first to announce his candidacy for the 2016 election. But as a champion of affordable housing and marginalized communities Arreguin expects developers to back an opponent who will support market rate development in the city.
