Supreme Court Case Threatens Public Sector Unions

The US Supreme Court will soon be considering a case that could weaken the power of public sector unions. The lawsuit, called “Friedrichs vs. California Teachers Association,” would make public sector union dues optional. Supporters of the lawsuit say it would help dissident teachers working for school reform. Unions see the lawsuit as part of a continuing series of attacks on organized labor.
