A special legislative session on health care funding has ended for now, with no agreement on how to fill a looming billion-dollar budget hole in the Medi-Cal program. Lawmakers in the special session also failed to approve increases in funding for developmental disability services and home care for the aged, blind and disabled. Advocates are looking forward to action on those issues next year, perhaps as part of the regular state budget process. Christopher Martinez reports.
