New legislation was introduced at the San Francisco board of supervisors yesterday to address growing concerns around gun safety and immigration policy following the fatal shooting of Kate Stienle near Fisherman’s Wharf. The ordinance introduced by Supervisor David Campos seeks to further distance the sheriff's department and city officials from Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. In contrast the Los Angles Sheriff's department informed the LA Board of Supervisors last night that it plans on working more closely with Immigration than it has in the past.
