The parents of a San Francisco woman who was fatally shot said Today that federal and local authorities contributed to the death of their daughter through negligence and bureaucratic bungling. Kate Steinle was shot and killed with a federal agents gun on July 1st. The alleged shooter is a man who had been released by the San Francisco Sheriff's department after repeatedly entering the country with out documentation. Now Steinle's parents are filling for damages against the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Bureau of Land Management.
