CCSF Faculty Set Up Strike Fund
Faculty from three San Francisco universities recently gathered to discuss stagnant wages, lack of stability, and a proposed strike. The Workers Rights’ Board of San Francisco, which is a local contingent of Jobs for Justice, held a hearing to listen to testimony on the state of public higher education in San Francisco and a lack of fair compensation for faculty and staff. Representatives from faculty at City College of San Francisco, San Francisco State University, and the San Francisco Art Institute say the current conditions lead to job insecurity for faculty and higher tuition for students. Faculty members at CCSF are making preparations for a possible strike. Jasmine Schwab Doyle reports from San Francisco.
