The US Conference of Mayors is meeting in San Francisco, where much of the mood has been set by the recent murders at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina. President Barak Obama spoke to the mayors, calling for continuing pressure on Congress and public opinion to push for measures where Congress has failed to act.
