Oakland Tenants Force Postponement of Land Sale

The city of Oakland's plan to sell an empty lot to developer was delayed by the city council last night. The city-owned parcel on 12th street, east of Lake Merritt, was intended to be the future site of a 24-story, high-end apartment tower where monthly rents would go for more than $3,000.
