Democratic senate leader Kevin de Leon has introduced legislation aimed at ending wage theft. He says billions of dollars are siphoned out of California’s economy each year by companies that pay workers less than the minimum or violate overtime and other wage laws. The legislation is supported by unions and organizations that backed a similar measure last year but failed to pass out of the legislature. Christopher Martinez reports.
