NEW RESTRICTIONS ON RESIDENTIAL WATER USAGE WERE PASSED TODAY BY THE EAST BAY MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT WHO ALSO DISCUSSED INCREASING BOTH RATES AND NON-COMPLIANCE FINES AS EARLY AS JULY. THE RESTRICTIONS COME AS PART OF GOVERNOR JERRY BROWN'S CALL TO REDUCE STATE WATER USAGE BY 25% AND INCLUDE NOT BEING ABLE TO WASH A CAR WITH OUT A SHUTOFF NOZZLE ON YOUR HOSE, AND PROHIBITS USE OF POTABLE WATER FOR USE IN NON-CIRCULATING FOUNTAINS OR ASTRO-TURF AND SIDEWALKS.
