State Leaders Propose Emergency Drought Legislation

State leaders are announcing a billion-dollar emergency plan to deal with California’s on-going drought, including money for emergency drinking water and food banks in hard-hit central valley communities, as well as funding to speed up big water and flood control projects. The plan would speed up spending from past water bonds, including the 7.5 billion dollar water bond voters approved in November. Christopher Martinez reports from Sacramento.
