Oakland Challenges Attack on Medical Marijuana

The City of Oakland wants Federal prosecutors to drop their prosecution against a medical marijuana clinic in Oakland, and now it’s asking a federal judge to let the City intervene in a suit against the Harborside Health Center medical marijuana facility. US Attorney Melinda Haag sued to seize the property of the clinic as part of a crackdown on California’s medical marijuana law, but since that action, US Attorney General Eric Holder ended a forfeiture program, and Congress has passed legislation barring the Department of Justice from spending funds to attack state medical cannabis laws. Christopher Martinez reports from San Francisco.
