Meadow Fire Grows Rapidly in Yosemite National Park

A fire in Yosemite National Park that started small has grown rapidly over the past 24 hours. Yosemite officials on Sunday reported the Meadow Fire burn zone to be 400 acres. But as of this morning nearly 2600 acres have been consumed above the area known as Little Yosemite Valley. The wilderness area is situated Northeast of Half Dome at an elevation of roughly seven thousand feet. Yosemite rescue helicopters have already evacuated dozens of hikers and campers out of the area. Vic Bedoian reports from Fresno.
