U.C. Student Regent Choice Sparks Debate

U.C. Regents voted to confirm a UCLA junior as its next student representative over the objections of student organizations. His critics say that in 2013, as a candidate for student government office, Avi Oved solicited outside funding. They charge that one of the central figures in the outside funding campaign was a real estate developer who espouses right-wing pro-Israel and anti-Moslem views. Sharon Sobotta filed this report from the meeting of the UC Regents in San Francisco.
