Former Bay Area Rapid Transit officer Johannes Mehserle was back in court today to testify in a civil suit filed against him by the father of Oscar Grant III, who Mehserle fatally shot at a B.A.R.T. station in 2009. A similar case stemming from the same incident is being held in conjunction with the Mehserle lawsuit. Johntue Caldwell, a close friend of Oscar Grant, filed an unlawful detainment suit against B.A.R.T. police involved in the same 2009 incident that took Grant's life.
