Immigrant Rights Laws To Take Effect New Years Day

New Years Day will usher in a wave of new immigrant rights laws in California, ranging from workers protections to limits on deportations from county jails. Another law on immigrant drivers’ licenses is slated to begin by the end of the year. Overall, 2013 has been a banner year for immigrant rights legislation in California, raising hopes for further action in other states and at the Federal level. Christopher Martinez reports.
