UC Workers Strike At Hospitals and Campuses Over Staffing Levels

University of California hospital workers walked off the job today after 18 months of unsuccessful contract talks, forcing the cancellation of elective surgeries and the delay of cancer treatments. AFSCME, the union that represents thousands of UC workers, says it’s a response to what it calls intimidation and harassment against the employees. KPFK Reporter John Matthews has the story.
