Activists Call for Hate Crime Felony Charges

NAACP Leaders are calling on the Santa Clara County District Attorney to file felony hate crime charges against four white students accused of abusing an African American freshman. The white students currently face misdemeanor battery and hate crime charges for allegedly placing a u-shaped bicycle lock around the neck of their African American roommate, barricading him in his room, writing the “n” word on a white board in the dorm suite, and hanging a confederate flag. Christopher Martinez reports.
