Bus Agency Asks Governor to Intervene, Prevent Strike

The Bay Area’s largest bus system, AC Transit, is asking Governor Jerry Brown to call a 60-day cooling off period to prevent a Thursday strike by bus operators. The move comes as stalled BART negotiations could lead to a Tuesday strike by workers at the Bay Area Rapid Transit system. An AC Transit spokesperson says strikes at the two transit agencies would be “catastrophic.” Christopher Martinez reports.
