BART Strike Averted Last Minute, Unions Call for Fair Contract

Bay Area Rapid Transit trains were up and running this morning, thanks to Governor Jerry Brown. Last night, 2 hours before the contract deadline, Brown issued a week long injunction against any work stoppages and appointed a 3-person panel to investigate the negotiations between BART and its unions. Meanwhile, unions rallied outside the Lake Merritt station, calling for a fair contract and for BART to stop its media campaign against the unions. Arielle Zionts reports:
