Nuclear Plant Closure Raises Questions for Lawmakers

A State Senate committee held a hearing Wednesday about the closure of the San Onofre nuclear power plant, raising questions about how it will affect the electricity supply, workers, and the environment. The San Onofre Nuclear Generation Station was shut down in January 2012 after a generator failed and leaked radioactive steam. The plant owners announced last month they are permanently shutting down and decommissioning the power plant. Christopher Martinez reports from the State Capitol.
