Medical Marijuana Regulation Passes First Hurdle

A measure to regulate California’s medical marijuana industry has passed its first hurdle in the State Legislature. The Assembly Public Safety Committee approved Democrat Tom Ammiano’s Assembly Bill 473 to regulate the cultivation, testing, and distribution of medical marijuana. Supporters hope the regulations will help end federal intervention in California’s Proposition 215 medical marijuana program. Christopher Martinez reports from Sacramento.
