Slow Progress in Los Angeles County Jail Reforms

An attorney with the Citizens' Commission on Jail Violence today told the L.A. County Board of Supervisors that slow progress is being made in jail reforms. Last year, the Commission blasted Sheriff Lee Baca and his top brass for promoting "unreasonable force" and systemic Deputy-on-Prisoner violence. In the wake of an ACLU lawsuit that cited hundreds of incidents of violence that went uninvestigated by authorities, county officials say they're committed to eradicating the culture of abuse in county jails. But, the high cost of some changes recommended by experts, still stands in the way. Pacifica's Dan Fritz reports from Los Angeles.
