National Park officials this week unveiled the latest plan for the future management of Yosemite Valley. The plan, for the first time, establishes a limit on the number of visitors the Valley can accommodate at one time. The current Merced River Plan is the third attempt by Yosemite officials to draft a plan that protects natural resources while allowing visitors to enjoy one of the most popular parks in the nation. Environmental groups won a lawsuit over the previous version, which they considered inadequate for protecting to the river, and managing the crowds of summer visitors. Vic Bedoian has more on the plan from Fresno.
