San Joaquin Air Board Adopts Particulate Plan

The San Joaquin Valley Air Board on Wednesday adopted a five year plan to clean up the microscopic particulate matter The plan is required by the federal Environmental Protection Agency under the Clean Air Act. Pollution from particulates poses major health and economic problems for the Valley. The plan was supported by most farming and business advocates, but air quality activists told the air board the measure does not go far enough to protect public health.
